Philosophy:
Kimberly J. Kino, MA, CPC, is the founder of AtHomeCounselingServices.com.
After gaining valuable therapeutic experience in private hospitals,
treatment centers, and private clinics, Ms. Kino chose to specialize
in relationship, couple, and family counseling from a desire to assist
families living happily together. Developing in research today, “It
seems today, there is a trend against marriages, relationships, and
staying together. People are beginning to accept divorce before giving
their marriages a fair chance". Her down-to-earth, honest, and
trusting style have led many clients to, “feel at home”,
and gain the happiness in their lives that they deserve. She has been
admired in the field for her insight, realness, and focus on “what
really is important” with her clientele.
Treatment/Modalities:
Serving individuals (adults and adolescents), couples, families and
groups. Treatment focuses include: Depression, Post-Traumatic Stress
Disorder, Adjustment Disorders, Relationship problems, Anxiety, Academic/College,
Vocational issues. Modalities include: Eclectic approaches, Solution-based
therapy, Brief therapy and Cognitive theoretical approaches.
Crendentials/Experience:
Ms. Kino obtained a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology.
from New Jersey City University, NJ. She graduated with honors and
her practicum included work with schizophrenia and substance abuse.
She has earned her B.A. degree from Rutgers University, NJ. Kimberly
has also continued her education at University of Pennsylvania and
the University of Phoenix. She is a Board Certified Professional Counselor
in private practice in the state of Arizona and a Quality Management
Specialist in a corporate facility. She has over 10 years of experience
in the counseling field, assisting thousands of clients of various
backgrounds, aging from 5 to 95!. Some specific work environments
for Kimberly include: group and individual counseling in psychiatric
inpatient and outpatient settings, geriatric counseling in nursing
homes and inpatient stays, school programs for adolescents and teens,
day treatment programs for the severely mentally ill, and vocational
case management outreach services. Ms. Kino also has gained valuable
experience in administrative corporate roles, giving her insight into
various different levels of care. Strong beliefs include professionalism,
quality care, client satisfaction, strong dedication and commitment
to her clientele.
Specialities:
Ms. Kino enjoys working with specialties that include: homosexual/bisexual
relationships, bicultural relationships, and pre-marital/marital/couple
counseling. Relationship issues include: communication pattern difficulties,
relationship evaluation, codependency, sexual identity, and separation/divorce.
